3 limiting beliefs holding you back from success. And how to shift them

Success is 20% strategy and 80% mindset.

The more I see other women crushing it in their biz, living the life from their vision the more I realize that is not much what they are doing but what they believe is possible for them to have, be, do and create.

Especially now we have so much access to all the knowledge the right tools and systems to build and start a business, but what really moves the needle is developing the right mindset for the journey.

When you started you had this vision for what you wanted. Probably the freedom, creating more impact, have more meaning.

Starting a business is the easy part, maintain it and be successful is the challenge.

And its a rollercoaster of a ride. Its ups and downs are not for the faint of heart. Starting this journey will require for you to show up not like the woman you were, but the one that lives that vision.

If you're not seeing the results, or you want to have success. It will require you to have a mindset that supports your vision.

Your belief system is the foundation upon which all your thoughts, decisions and actions are built.

When I started this journey I wanted to be this successful woman entrepreneur. But deep down I really didn't believe it myself. I had these limiting stories running in my mind on autopilot that were sabotaging me. Not taking action, keeping me small, not being visible, procrastinating, etc.

I realized I needed to first believe it was possible for me. To believe and develop a mindset and a set of internal beliefs that supported my vision instead of sabotaging it.

From working with my clients and with my own experience in these 3 years of starting a business I found the main ( there are many more, but let's focus on just these) 3 limiting beliefs that keep most women stuck or not seeing the results they would wish.

So here are the ones that might be holding you back from success.

1. THE EXPERT TRAP.

“I'm not ready yet”, “I Need to do the next training to feel ready” , “it has to be perfect” , “my website doesn't look professional yet” , “when I’ve mastered the topic I’ll start talking about it” …. Do you relate to this? It’s what we call “little miss perfect” waiting to feel ready to take the first step.

How to shift this: nobody started feeling ready, the answers are not in step number one. You’ll get better the more you show up, the more you practice it. If you really want to shift this, go and binge-watch all your role models in your industry in their beginnings, their first speeches, first videos or blog posts. They are completely different from what they are now.

There are so many others with way less knowledge or capabilities than you, doing the things you don't feel ready to do. So, Instead build a mindset that you can always figure things out along the way, that the answers will get as long as you take the next step. Build that trust muscle.

“Do your best until you know better, then do better”

The best time to start is now.

2. COMPARISON TRAP.

“Everybody else is doing the same thing”, “why would I be any different”.

Feeling like you have nothing new to offer. All is already done, created.

How to shift this. Yes, there are many others doing the same thing, but they are not you. That's your unique differentiate point. Maybe someone's message doesn't resonate with you and the same message coming from another person does resonate. Find what makes you different, bring more of who you are to your message, your programs, your videos. Maybe you're funny, or great at telling stories around your message.

Choose 2 other women who are in the same field and watch their message, how different they are. Find your uniqueness. You don't have to reinvent the wheel. And know that there's someone that needs to hear what you have to say, from you.

“You do You”

3. SCARCITY TRAP.

“Nobody will pay for what I have to offer”, “there’s not enough money”, “economy is not good right now”, there are no people who can or will pay for my services”. This looks like giving everything for free or for very little money. Thinking that nobody will pay for your services. So you undercharge and then feeling drained, overgiving, oversharing but barely surviving to pay your bills, having to work 2 or 3 other jobs to keep your biz alive and floating. Scarcity mindset. This is a big topic for many of us women.

How to shift this. money is energy. By giving everything for free or undervaluing you are letting others not to fully commit with their transformation. Have you noticed the difference when you paid a considerable sum of money for a program or something and you fully committed cuz there was a lot at stake? And when you are given something for free you dont value it as much? the more you charge your worth and what you know you can offer, the more commited clients you’re going to attract, they’ll see better results. There are 7.8 billion people on this planet, there’s more than plenty of abundance for everyone. Enough clients and people who're wainting for your support.

A scarcity mindset is premised on the belief that money, success, etc. are all finite resources … not everyone can have them and they are hard to come by.

“There’s always more than enough”. Repeat that daily, create a mantra from that.

Remember that your mind will always try to match outside what you believe internally. So go out there, look for evidence that proves those limiting beliefs wrong.

Bring awareness to the internal stories that aren’t supporting you, and ask better questions.

  • Are these beliefs serving me and my vision?

  • What do I want to believe instead?

  • Who I can look up outside that can prove those new beliefs and stories, right?

“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I shall have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it, even if I may not have it at the beginning.” — Mahatma Gandhi
